It is truly astounding that “Developed Western Nations” are at the receiving end with their greed surpassing beyond limit. It is also the global irony, because these very ‘Developed Western Nations’ instead of safeguarding their own nations are preaching other nations across Global South about Policy Advocacy on CO2 Emissions, and are busy either in Wars or sponsoring Wars in various regions of the world.
The global map of chaos underwent a radical and terrifying expansion in February 2026. While the total number of global human greed catastrophes dipped slightly from the previous year, the reach of these disasters exploded, surging across 31.8% more nations than in 2025.
While the pain was felt from the flooded streets of Greece to the fire-scorched plains of Australia, one region stood as the undeniable epicenter of the crisis. North America—specifically the USA and Canada—bore the brunt of the onslaught, tallying a staggering 22 major catastrophes in just 28 days.
From the record-shattering “Blizzard of 2026” in the Northeast to 630 simultaneous wildfires in Florida and a -64°F Arctic death-grip in Canada, the continent didn’t just experience bad weather; it led the world in continental destruction.

The North American “Epicenter”
The USA and Canada accounted for 34.3% of all global catastrophes I recorded in February 2026.
USA (21 Catastrophes): A relentless gauntlet ranging from EF1 Tornadoes in Indiana and 322,000-acre wildfires in Oklahoma to the historic Winter Storm Hernando, which buried New York and Massachusetts under nearly 40 inches of snow, shattering 50-year records.
Canada (1 Catastrophe/Region): Suffered the most extreme temperature anomalies on the planet, with wind chills hitting a lethal -64°F in Nunavut.
The European Crisis Continues
In January 2026, EUROPE topped the continents with 27 Earth Catastrophes from the total monthly 76 listed. In February 2026, it steps down one rank among the continents with 20 catastrophes.
While North America led in frequency, Europe followed with 20 major catastrophes, defined by “Climate Whiplash”:
France: Endured a soul-crushing 40-day rain streak, the longest in its recorded history.
Italy & Greece: Ancient streets in Piedmont and Santorini were transformed into rivers of mud and ice.
The UK: Saturation reached a breaking point with over 250 flood alerts active at once.
