As we embark on the fifth part of ‘The Fossil Fuel Syndrome’ to unravel how and why various oil producing nations have been and are being destroyed by the US and its Western Allies one after another in a systematic manner. We will take a look at nations ranked 33rd to 43rd in the world ranking.
At No. 33rd, Argentina with 0.14% oil reserves has been struggling politically and with the ongoing financial crises since last few decades. In spite of being the second-largest nations in South America, Argentina has failed as many as nine times in paying off its sovereign debt. From being one of the richest nations in the world to becoming a nation stuck in prolonged financial crisis, humongous debt and triple-digit inflation, Argentina’s legacy of populism and military rule has ruined the nation divided by its political culture.
The rich nation was brilliantly destroyed by U. S policymakers during the Cold War for Peron’s leftist policies. Kindly note, the U. S and the Western Nations have always been against nations with leftist policies since World War II. The 1976 coup by the military was not only sowed by the U. S, but also provided intelligence support and financially by backing Argentine junta to overthrow the communist inclined government rule. Argentina has not recovered since, because of its close proximity with Venezuela, Iran and China.
Colombia with 0.14% oil reserves is ranked 34th in the global standing. Colombia’s political unrest has been sowed and backed by the U. S since John F Kennedy was the President. Just like how the Americans destroyed Afghanistan – the nation, the U. S reckless use of military aid has led to Colombia’s destabilization and human rights abuses till date.
Watch: UN Peacekeeping Forces drone caught by Congolese villagers
Ranked 35th in the world standing, Gabon hold 0.12% oil reserves. Gabon has been a U. S ally since 1960, when it gained independence from France. It is interesting to note that Gabon was ruled by authoritarian leader Omar Bongo from 1967 till his death in 2009. His son Ali Bongo took over the reign to rule Gabon – the rich mineral resourced nation. In 2023, the military took over the reign by overthrowing Ali Bongo. It is Gabon’s Oil, Timber and Manganese that France and the U. S has been milking to their benefits.
Congo stands at No. 36th with 0.10% oil reserves. Congo’s rich minerals like diamonds, gold, copper, cobalt, tin, tantalum and lithium has been looted by European nations and the U. S post World War II endlessly. In spite of being one of the richest nations in the world, the Democratic Republic of Congo is one of the poorest due to colonialism, slavery and corruption. Who can forget the Rwandan Genocide of 1994? More than 6 million Congolese have been massacred mercilessly till date. UN Peacekeeping Forces in Congo, carrying Gold, Cash, Guns and Parachutes, has been stealing Gold for Western Nations since 2013.
Chad comes next at No. 37th with 0.09% oil reserves. Uranium, Titanium, Bauxite and Gold are the prime mineral resources found in plenty in Chad. Chad recently kicked out France by ending defense agreement. After Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, Chad becomes the fourth Sahel nation to cut ties with European colonizer, thereby giving the ultimatum that you cannot loot our rich minerals anymore. European colonizers flourished because of African nations’ rich mineral resources.
Australia is ranked 38th with 0.07% oil reserves. There is not much to say about the Western Ally. Standing at 39th Brunei holds 0.07% oil reserves. Brunei is one of the tiniest Southeast Asian nations. Apart from oil and gas, Brunei is rich in gold, mercury, antimony, lead, bauxite, silicon. The tiny nation is ruled by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Muiz’zaddin Wad’daulah since 1967.
Equatorial Guinea with 0.07% oil reserves is ranked 40th in the world. Interestingly, all African nations have been European colonies and they have been exploited by the European nations. Rich in gold, titanium, manganese, iron ore and uranium, Equatorial Guinea is being ruled by brutal dictator Teodoro Obiang since 1979. The British, CIA and Spanish-backed mercenaries tried to overthrow Obiang in 2004 coup but failed.
Trinidad and Tobago with 0.044% oil reserves is ranked 41st in the world. The southernmost island nation in the Caribbean is a Western Ally. Latin American nation Peru with 0.041% oil reserves takes the 42nd rank in global standing. Rich in copper, gold, silver and zinc, Peru is strongly allied with Colombia, Mexico and Chile. In 2022, CIA funded regime change and overthrew President Pedro Castillo, who was closer to Cuba. Dina Boluarte succeeded to come into power with CIA’s backing and funding.
Ghana ranked 43rd with 0.040% oil reserves have massively exploited by Western Nations for its rich mineral resources like gold, diamonds, manganese and bauxite by U. S mainly. One will be amazed to know that out of the total US$5.2 billion of gold produced from 1990 to 2002, the Ghana government received only $87.3 million in corporate income taxes and royalty payments that is just 1.7% of the total gold production. Need I say anymore?
The exploitation of various oil and rich minerals’ deposit nations in the world have been systematically looted and managed by Western Nations, while making all those nations poor with political intervention, instability by creating unwanted chaos, waging internal wars by Western Nations-backed and sponsored terrorist outfits to keep the nations always on tenterhooks.
If a nation does not agree with the U. S and its Western Allies, then wage war, create instability with various terrorist outfits, sanction the government with tariffs, change regime with one of its allies or else create disharmony in the nation with respective corrupt political alliance. The Fossil Fuel Syndrome is the global reality and it will continue to lead the world towards ultimate destruction to satiate the greed of just “THE FEW”!
